"How many things are still standing after 100 years?" asked Marcel Hall, principal of Randallstown Elementary School, which celebrates its centennial next year.
Hall has been Randallstown's principal for 11 years, watching as the old stone structure survived a massive renovation a few years ago that helped bring it into the 21st century.
In addition to new heating, cooling, sprinkler and plumbing systems, new windows, doors and ceilings, relocation of offices and a new media center, the renovation included a 9,000-square-foot addition with a new cafetorium and kitchens.
Hall recently sent out more than 30 letters to county officials, community leaders, businesses and churches asking for participation on a 100-year anniversary planning committee.
